AGM / Prize Giving / Boat Auction

Hi Everyone,
I trust this mail finds you all well.
It gives me pleasure to report that over the last few weeks, we’ve had at least 7 new members join Stella Canoe Club.
Welcome to All the new members and it’s great to see you at the club.
We had an awesome turn-out for the Duncan Scotney Nite Race on September 6th and my congratulations go out to Claudio Manfron, the race organizer, for putting together a great event.
Thank you also to all the Stella members who assisted on the evening.
For the first time in many years, the weather for the race was superb with no wind or rain whatsoever. The good weather for the race almost felt out of place. Almost !
Please find attached the notice of the Stella Canoe Club AGM on Tuesday 20th of September, along with the usual proxy forms.
We encourage all Stella members to attend.
Prizegiving for the 2010 – 2011 season will take place directly after the AGM, followed by dinner.
Dinner will be available at R50 per person and we have decided to make the meal unique to Durban’s Hot and Spicy vibe !!
We have only had a few confirmations so far, thank you to those... and in order to get an idea of numbers for catering purposes, please indicate by return of a short email, your attendance and how many there will be in your party.
The Boat Auction is still planned for Saturday 24 September at 11am.
However, this may clash with the Rugby World Cup game between New Zealand and France, which kicks off at 10h30.
There is also the Café Fish Canoe race that start at 8am, on Sat 24th Sept.
We can get a consensus regarding the date for the boat auction from everyone at the club on Tuesday.
This then, one of the final reminders to either remove your boat from an unpaid-for rack, or pay for the rack.
There are a few members who made arrangements to pay for racks, once some become available after the auction.
At the moment, there are still at least 20 boats in the racks, illegally.
With Fish around the corner, there were a few enquiries for Stella paddling clothing.
If you require anything, please let me know asap, as the orders will take a week or so to be delivered.
